01 — The short version

The short version

Drinking in Jumeirah means drinking by the water, mostly. The coastline from Madinat out to J1 Beach is lined with beach clubs that turn into bars as the sun drops, and the appeal is the setting as much as the glass in your hand. This is sundowner territory first, late-night second.

The beach-club end is strong, Kaimana, GITANO, African Queen and Bâoli at J1, all sea views and DJs, while the Madinat side keeps it more classic with 19 Sixty-Four by McGettigan's and the Belgian Beer Café. For cocktails proper, Blind Tiger hides a serious bar and The Bulgari Bar does polished hotel glamour, with Mimi Kakushi's jazz-era room in between. Every venue below is a Jumeirah room we've confirmed is live, ordered by rating.

Good to know

Jumeirah's drinking is spread along the coast, so pick a zone: J1 Beach for the beach clubs, Madinat Jumeirah for the souk's bars and terraces, or the hotel bars further along the shore. The drive between them is short, but you won't be walking from one to another.

Sunset is the prime slot, and the beach clubs charge and fill accordingly from Thursday to Saturday, so book a table if you want the view. The Madinat pubs and the cocktail dens are easier for a walk-in midweek.

04 — Questions

Questions

What are the best bars in Jumeirah?

By our live ratings, 19 Sixty-Four by McGettigan's, Kaimana and Sakhalin lead, with The Bulgari Bar, GITANO and African Queen close behind. The ranked list above pulls live from our index, so it reflects what's open and rated now.

Which Jumeirah bars are on the beach?

Kaimana, GITANO, African Queen and Bâoli all sit on J1 Beach with sea views and a beach-club feel, while Ninive Beach and Flamingo Room by tashas bring the same coastal energy. They're the picks for a sundowner by the water.

Where in Jumeirah is good for cocktails?

Blind Tiger is a hidden cocktail bar built around serious mixology, The Bulgari Bar does polished hotel glamour with a sea view, and Mimi Kakushi pairs 1920s Osaka styling with a strong list. All three suit a proper drinks night over a beach session.

Are there relaxed pubs in Jumeirah?

Yes, mostly around Madinat Jumeirah. 19 Sixty-Four by McGettigan's and the Belgian Beer Café keep things classic and walk-in friendly, with terraces looking over the souk's waterways.

Do I need to book a bar in Jumeirah?

For the J1 beach clubs at sunset and across the weekend, yes, those tables go first. The Madinat pubs and the cocktail bars are more forgiving of a walk-in, particularly earlier in the week.
