Sa’Cha by Pang: The Amazon, Cooked Through Asia, at Creek Harbour

A Latin-Asian kitchen in a jungle-dressed room on the Creek Harbour promenade, with a terrace that faces the Burj Khalifa. What to order, when to go, and our verdict.

The room

Sa’Cha by Pang sits on the promenade level of the Address Creek Harbour, and it doesn’t do understated. Inside, a jungle mural of elephants and monkeys runs behind green banquettes, gold-patterned columns climb to the ceiling, and the bar glows under a canopy of butterfly lights. The menu explains the logo: a sun, a palm and a parrot, three symbols the kitchen says Latin America and Asia share.

Outside is the reason to book early. The terrace looks across the water to the Downtown skyline, Burj Khalifa included, and the view is what diners mention most in their reviews, which hold a perfect 5.0 across 116 ratings on Google.

The menu

The kitchen cooks Latin America through an Asian lens, and the menu reads like a map of the idea. Seabream ceviche is cured in leche de tigre with koji. A hamachi ‘handroll’ comes with coconut dressing and pickled onion. Prawn and chicken dumplings sit in a Colombian ‘laksa’ bisque, and wagyu cheeks are braised for ten hours and served on plantain gnocchi with truffle.

It doesn’t take itself too seriously, either. One section is headed ‘No regret’, another ‘Into the fire’, and the add-ons are priced with a wink: ‘Feeling rich?’ buys smoked caviar for AED 30, ‘Too much cash?’ adds fresh truffle for AED 20. Prices run from AED 48 for the cassava bravas to AED 178 for a cazuela of king crab.

The bar

The cocktail list is built around El Dorado, with each drink honouring one of the Amazon’s endangered ‘guardians’. The Margarita Brava brings aji amarillo and honey jalapeño to mezcal and reposado tequila. BBQ Ashes pairs pineapple with mezcal and tequila, and the Cherry Negroni goes darker with tonka and chocolate bitters. Cocktails run AED 60 to 80, and Rain in the Jungle (kiwi, cucumber and soda) is the alcohol-free pick at AED 28.

When to go

Weekday lunch is the easiest way in: one starter and a main for AED 98, or AED 128 with a second starter, Monday to Friday from 1 to 4pm. From 5 to 9pm every day the Cheers to Spritz menu pours five spritzes at AED 55, just as the skyline lights up across the creek.

Each night has its own draw. Tuesday is Unlimited Bao, two hours of bao for AED 138. Thursday is Jarana Night, with a Latin live band from 8pm. Saturday is Date Night: four courses with music and cocktails at AED 600 per couple. Book ahead for weekends and ask for the terrace; there’s valet parking at the hotel.

The verdict

A destination dinner with a view to match

Sa’Cha by Pang is the most distinctive room on the Creek Harbour promenade: a menu that commits to the Latin-Asian idea rather than borrowing a few garnishes, a bar with a story, and a terrace that frames the Burj. It isn’t the cheapest night out, but the weekday lunch from AED 98 and the daily spritz hour make it easy to try, and the Saturday Date Night is the evening to book.
